I'm a cool guy who likes to program in his spare time, and hang out with friends (when I can, that is).

Crazy stories

Well, my life isn't COMPLETELY boring.  I do awesomely cool stuff when I'm on vacation mostly.  Here's a very, very compressed version of a cool story.
So my sister, dad, and I went to the washington coast [the very tippy northwest point of Washington state].  We hiked about 6 miles out to the coast, hiked down the beach a few miles, made camp, and spent the night there.  We decided to go back a different route the next day.  So we were down the beach a ways, when suddenly  we  came to this few hundred foot high  (dunno maybe 200 or something)  rock-jut-cliff-thingy.  To the left there was a large cliff, to the right was lots of water and rocks.  We decided to go OVER the rock cliff, only accessable by a nice little rope going up, then down the other side.  Oh.  Man.  So the way up wasn't too bad (your body weight + 50 pounds * the amount of scaryness = me at the time), but it was the way down that killed me (nearly ).  I was just going down the other side (I hate not being able to see where your footing is), when I stepped on this root, slipped, flew out into space and hung there for what seemed for forever, clinging onto nothing but a rope, then slamming back into the rock cliff.  Of course, I still had to make my way down.  That was a cool experience.
Oh, then there was the time when I was about 7, hiking Mt. Rainier with my dad, my friend, his dad, his brother, and a few other people.  We were crossing the ice fields.  For those of you who don't know, the ice fields are about 100 feet or more long each, tilted about like / or steeper, are covered with snow, partially melted, and frozen again, rendering it extremely slippery.  About 50 feet below you are the jagged rocks (no joke).  So for safety reasons (I thank my dad and Mr. Lewis for this) we were all holding onto a rope, so if one of us fell, the other people's body weight would keep you from falling way down.  Oh, and of course I didn't mention the air pockets.  About 3 feet deep or more, these suckers look like normal snow, yet they are really this pit covered with a thin layer of it.  Fun fun.
So everything was going good until I suddenly stepped in an air pocket, lost my balance and fell over the edge of the skinny train, dangling only by the rope (hallelujah).  The dads' freaked, and kept a close eye on me for the rest of the trip.
I have bad luck with falling and dangling.  See, my life can be fun (and scary). ;-D

Here I am...again

Well, not as if ANYONE reads this stuff, but I'll blog again for the heck of it.
Ummm, I made a funny movie, and a bunch of fake screenshots of RuneScape (it's my half-sorta-hobby), and I did school.  No big suprise.  It's Friday, so I'm thrilled that it's the end to another God-given week.  I've been programming a little here and there, but nothing incredible has come up.  I'm going to Martial Arts and math class later today, so I got to be going.

My First Blog

Well, people, it's been awhile (as in never) since my last blog entry, so here's an update.  I've been meaning to add an entry for awhile, but i've been busy (who here can spell the S-C-H-O-O-L word?), so.....yeah.
I'm so EXCITED.  If you dont already know, I'm in Karate, but I might be getting my blue belt [the order of belts: white, yellow, BLUE, red, jr. black, black], so thats cool.  Its supposed to take like 6 years to get yours, but I've only been taking it for just over a year!!!!
School's going well.  I'm in 9th grade (technically), although I'm not taking school at a high school.  I take a few classes at the HRC (Homeschool Resource Center), It's a school for Homeschoolers (sorry guys).
My life's good, and I hope yours is too!  God be with you, Luke.
